Answer :

Current population of town = 50,000

% increase every year = 4%

Population after 1 year =  \frac{100+4}{100} * 50000  =  \frac{104}{100} * 50000 = 52000

Population on second year =  \frac{100+4}{100}* 52000 = \frac{104}{100} * 52000= 54080

Population after 2 years of the town is 54080 persons .
