HELLO DEAR

given that:-

a=5/3-√5

rationalize it

we get,
a = \frac{4}{3 - \sqrt{5} } \\ \\ = \frac{4}{3 - \sqrt{5} } \times \frac{3 + \sqrt{5} }{3 + \sqrt{5} } \\ \\ = \frac{4(3 + \sqrt{5}) }{9 - 5} \\ \\ = \frac{4(3 + \sqrt{5} )}{4} \\ \\ a = (3 + \sqrt{5} )

now put this VALUE of "a" in Equation

a+4/a

we get,
(3 + \sqrt{5} ) + \frac{4}{3 + \sqrt{5} } \\ \\ = 3 + \sqrt{5} + \frac{4}{3 + \sqrt{5} } \times \frac{3 - \sqrt{5} }{3 - \sqrt{5} } \\ \\ = 3 + \sqrt{5} + \frac{4(3 - \sqrt{5}) }{9 - 5} \\ \\ = 3 + \sqrt{5} + \frac{4(3 - \sqrt{5} )}{4} \\ \\ 3 + \sqrt{5} + 3 - \sqrt{5} \\ \\=> 6 \\ \\ hence \: \\ \\ a + \frac{4}{a} = 6
I HOPE ITS HELP YOU DEAR,
THANKS
