Please. . give me detail information about ground water have gone down due fo increase in use of water by people

Groundwater is the total water present in the soil.it is discharged by our use and recharged by rainwater.But due to high need of groundwater, people have pipe Wells and handpumps everywhere.So the discharge is more and recharge is less.thie is the reason behind ground water level going down
