Explanation:

1. I1 = E / R = E/ ( R1 + R2)------ series

V1 = I1 ( R1 +R2)

2. I2 = E /R = E (R1 + R2) / R1R2 ------parallel

V2 = I2 ( R1R2)/( R1 + R2)

from the above , we have

I1 is less then i2.becaue equivalent resistance in series is higher than in parallel.

V1 is less than V2 .
