➭ A number is said to be rational if it can be written in the form / , where p and q are integers and q≠0

➭ Taking the case of zero ‘0’

  • Zero can be written as. 0/1 , 0/2 , 0/3 , 0/4……..
  • Zero can be written as well 0/−1 , 0/−2 , 0/−3 , 0/−4……..

➭ So, we conclude that 0 can be written in the form of p/q , where p and q are integers ( q can be positive or negative integers).

Therefore, zero is a rational number.
