Naoshi Koriyama uses a central metaphor in his poem to compare poetry to a budding flower. Much like a growing plant, poetry develops its beauty gradually. Koriyama refers to a poem's initial impression as ordinary and reserved.

IT IS A SIMPLE POEM WRITTEN BY NAOSHI KORIYAMA.IN THIS POEM THE POET COMPARES A BUDDING FLOWER(WATER LILY)
WITH POETRY. THE POET SAYS THAT THE VIEWER IS UNABLE TO KNOW THE BEAUTY OF THE WATER LILY AT ONE SIGHT. AS SOON IT GROWS IT BECOMES MORE AND MORE MAGNIFICIENT AND BEAUTIFUL. MUCH LIKE A GROWING PLANT, THE POETRY ALSO DEVELOPS IT MEANING GRADUALLY. THE POET SAYS THAT TO UNDERSTAND A POEM A POEM THE READER SHOULD BE CALM AND PATIENT. HE SAYS THAT THE READERS IS ALSO NOT SURPRISED AND DIDN'T UNDERSTAND THE POEM'S INNER MEANING BY REAFING IT FIRST TIME BUT AS THE READER READS IT MORE THAN ONE TIME HE IS ABLE TO UNDERSTAND THE POEM INNER MEANINGS.
HOPE IT HELPS
