Helen Adams Keller was an American author, political activist and lecturer. She was the first deaf, blind person to earn a bachelor of arts degree. Her name is known around the world as a symbol of courage in the face of overwhelming odds, yet she was much more than a symbol

Helen Keller was born on 27th June, 1880 in a little town in Alabama,the United States of America. In February 1882 a severe illness took away her sight and hearing. Altough unable to see or hear she became the Advisor to the American Foundation for the Blind and is known all over the world for her labour on behalf of the blind and the deaf.
