Given :

  • acceleration to be produced, a = 4 ms⁻²
  • mass of block, m = 6 kg

To find :

  • Force to be applied on the block, F = ?

Knowledge required :

  • Force is given as the product of mass and acceleration produced.

     F = m a

[ where F is force, a is acceleration and m is mass ]

  • SI unit of Force is Newton (N).
  • Dimensions of Force : L M T⁻²

Calculation :

Using formula for calculating Force

→ F = m a

→ F = 6 × 4

F = 24 Newton

Therefore,

24 Newton of force is needed to produce an acceleration of 4 ms⁻² in a block of mass 6 kg .

Question :-

  • what force we would be needed to produce an acceleration of 4m/\sf sec^2 on a block of 6kg ?

Given :-

  • acceleration = 4m/sec
  • Block of weight = 6kg

To Find :-

  • What force we need = a

we know

→ Force = Mass × Acceleration

or → F = ma

→ Force = 6 × 4

→ Force = 24 Newton.

Hence :-

  • we need a force of 24 Newton to make an acceleration of 4m/\sf sec^2on a block of 6kg
