as981600: x3+x2=4y+6 === x+3=0 there fore x= -3 so -3 Ka whole cube = -27 + (-3) whole sq = 9 so -27+9=4y+6 so -27+9= -18. so -18=4y+6 there fore -18-6 =4y. so thus -12=4y therefore -12/4 = y. answer is -3 = y

Heya !!!

Let X + 3 is a factor of the given polynomial.

So,

X + 3 = 0

X = -3

P ( X ) = X³ + X² - 4X + 6

=> X³ + X² - 4X + 6 = 0

Putting X = -3 in P(X).

P(-3) = (-3)³ + (-3)² - 4 × -3 + 6

=> -27 + 9 + 12 + 6

=> ( 27 ) - ( 27 )

=> 0

Remainder = 0

So,

( X + 3 ) is a factor of the given polynomial.

If (x + 3) is the factor of the given equation, Remainder must be 0,

By Remainder Theorem,

(x + 3) = 0
x = -3

x³ + x² - 4x + 6
=> (-3)³ + (-3)² - 4(-3) + 6
=> -27 + 9 +12 + 6
=> 0

As remainder is 0, ( x + 3 ) is the factor.
