2. He didn't gave the poet sympathy. He just gave to gold so that he can take the gold and also the revenue on that. The man gave the gold in greed to earn more money. The proud man had everything then also he was greedy.

3. The poor man had nothing but a bread which he gave to the poet who was in distress. Fhe old man had sympathy on the poet and he took care of the poet whole day and night. This shows the gentleness and kindness of the poor man which the proud man lacked
