Answer- The above question is from the chapter 'Lines and Angles'.

Concept used: 1) Exterior Angle Property of a Triangle

2) Vertically Opposite Angles

Given question: Solve for x and y.

(Figure has already been attached in the question.)

Solution: Using exterior angle property of a triangle,

x = 70° + 35°

x = 105°

In the triangle containing angle 65°, we can get a vertically opposite angle which is equal to 35°.

Again, by using exterior angle property of a triangle,

y = 35° + 65°

y = 100°

∴ x = 105°

∴ y = 100°
