Use Heron's formula:

Semiperimeter, s = \frac{15+17+18}{2}

= \frac{50}{2}

= 25

let, a = 15cm, b = 17cm, c = 18cm

Area = \sqrt{s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)}

=> \sqrt{25(25-15)(25-17)(25-18)}

=> \sqrt{25(10) (8) (7)}

=> \sqrt{250 × 56}

=> \sqrt{14000}

=> \fbox{ 20\sqrt{35}\:cm^2 }
