In the poem "The Mirror " the author Sylvia Plath tells her own sad experiences of her life.

A mirror used by a woman from her childhood, narrates about itself and about about the woman. The mirror tells the real truth of life that as one ages one doesn't look beautiful anymore. One becomes uglier by appearance.

The woman becomes sad and disappointed that she is not beautiful. She cries With tears running down the eyes. The mirror made her feel like a terrible (ugly and helpless) fish. So she turns her back to the mirror. She looks at the candle light and at the moon. They make her feel better and beautiful.

However the truth is that mirror never lies and truly depicts what is in front of it.

The moral is that we all age gradually, and will lose our beauty some day for sure. Not believing this truth is not good for us. We need to believe it and live in reality. Also we should not feel sad about natural ageing.
