Ordeal in the ocean is the autobiographical portrayal of Slava Kurilov who fell in the ocean, and his struggle for his survival. He remained in the ocean swimming towards any possible shore nearby facing danger of being attacked by sharks or any other sea creature. He, at times saw a ship in some distance, hoping it will spot him and rescue him. But the ship went away. He spent almost four days and four nights swimming in the ocean. Once he saw an island and began swimming towards it. But a strong current drifted him farther from the island. But ultimately he succeeded in reaching a shore, and thanked his stars for having survived.
