Answer:

x = 45, y = 45

Step-by-step explanation:

AB = AD [given]

BC = DC [given]

AC = AC [common]

therefore triangle ABC = triangle ADC   [SAS congruency]

therefore ∠BAC = ∠DAC  [corresponding parts of congruent triangles]

x + 5 = 50 ⇒ x = 45°

also ∠BCA = ∠DCA     [corresponding parts of congruent triangles]

y -7 =38 ⇒ y = 45°

Answer:

heyy friend ...first of all the question is misprint .....

the two triangles should be ABC and ACD......

that is why i m answering by taking these two triangles....

Step-by-step explanation:

( i ).... In triangles ABC & ACD....

AB = AD. ........(given in figure )

BC = CD .........( given in figure )

AC = AC ..........( common )

therefore, triangle ABC ~= triangle ACD (By SSS

criterion)

( ii ) Since, Triangle ABC =~ Triangle ACD (just prroved)

so, angle BAC = angle DAC ( by CPCT )

50⁰ = X + 5⁰

X = 50⁰ - 5⁰

X = 45⁰

Also, angle BCA = angle DCA (by CPCT )

Y- 7⁰ = 38⁰

Y = 38⁰ + 7⁰

Y = 45⁰

So here are your answes........

i hope it will help you....
