First connect all the gap,

now we have a rectangle on the right and left which are of equal dimensions and a square in the middle

(one side is 2.5m and the other side is 7.5m-(2.5m from the bottom+2.5m from the top)

= 7.5m -5m

= 2.5m

Now , area= l×b= 7.5m×2.5m= 18.75m²

area of another rect on the left= 18.75m²

area of a square= side ²= (2.5m)²= 6.25m²

so the total = 18.75m²+18.75m²+6.25m²

=43.75m²

Perimeter= (7.5m×2+2.5m×10)

= 15m+25m

= 40m
