Answer:
1) Ecosystem means an interaction between biotic and abiotic components of nature.
2) 2 components :
a) Abiotic components, which includes all the physical factors of nature like light, air, temperature, water etc
b) Biotic components which includes all the living organisms or components of nature like plants(producers), animals(consumers), micro organisms(decomposers)
3)Food chain is the sequence of living organisms in which one organism depends on another organism for food to transfer energy
Ex:Grass = Grasshopper = Frog = Snake = Eagle
An average of 10% of food is nutrilized by an organism and made available for the next level of consumers. Therefore, 10%can be taken as the average value for the amount of organic matter that is present at each step and reaches the next level of consumers. Since so little energy is available for the next level of consumers, food chain generally consist of 3 or 4 steps. The loss of energy at each step is so great that very little usable energy remains after 4 trophic levels
