Answer:

Question) A train is travelling at speed of 90km/hr.Brakes are applied so as to produce a uniform acceleration of, -0.5m/s^2.Find how far the train will go before it is brought to rest.

Given:

Initial speed, u = 90 Km/hr=25m/s

Final speed, v = 0

acceleration ,a = -0.5m/s

To Find:

Distance

Solution:

 {v}^{2} = {u}^{2} + 2as \\ {(0)}^{2} = {(25)}^{2} + 2 \times ( - 0.5) \times s \\ 0 = 625 - 1 \times s \\ s = 625m

Thus, the train will travel a distance of 625 metres before it is brought to rest.

Question) A trolley , while going down an inclined plane ,has an acceleration of 2cm/s^2.What will be it's velocity 3sec after the

start .

Given:

Initial velocity,u= 0

acceleration ,a = 2cm/s

Time,t = 3 sec

To Find:

Final Velocity

Solution:

v = u + at \\ v = 0 + 2 \times 3 \\ v = 6

Thus, the velocity of the trolley will be 6cm/s
