Hi!

Here's your ans..

STEP BY STEP EXPLANATION:~

i) No.of electrons present in X

= No. of protons present in X

=Atomic no. of X

=7

therefore acc. to Bhor's atomic law..

No. of electrons which can be accommodated in first K shell= 2

No. of electrons which can be accommodated in second L shell=8

Now, total no. of electrons=7

Thus,no. of electrons in K shell= 2

& no. of electrons in L shell=(7-2)=5

Hence the elctronic configuration of X is 2,5 .

ii) Acc. to i)

electronic configuration of X is 2,5.

No. of electrons present outermost L shell or valence shell = 5

Total no. electrons which can be actually accomodated in L shell =8(acc. to Bohr's

atomic law)

So to achieve its nearest elctronic configuration it will gain (8-5)=3 electrons... Hence the valency of X is +3.

iii) No. of protons =Atomic No.=7

No. of neutrons= Mass No. - Atomic No.

=14 - 7

=7

iv) 14 represents the Mass No.(No.of protons+No. of neutrons)of X &

7 represents Atomic No. of X i.e. No.of protons.

Hope it helps..
