Answer:

from t=0 sec to t=5sec the object decelerates ans then accelerates.

Explanation:

  • we can imagine that if the ball is thrown vertically upward,
  • then in first half time it has a retardation of gm/s in downward direction and velocity in the upward direction
  • and in the remaining half time it has a acceleration of gm/s in downward direction and velocity is also in the same(downward) direction
  • we can compare this graph by that ball case
  • here in initial 5 sec ( from t = 0 to t = 5) it has retardation, we have the equation for initial 5 sec as S = ut -1/2gt^2 , here this is parabola equation and the coefficient of t^2 is negative that means downward parabola.
  • for the final 5 sec(from t=5 to t=10) it has acceleration, we have the equation for final 10 sec as S=ut +1/2 gt^2, here this is parabola equation and the coefficient of t^2 is positive so it is upward parabola .
  • and it will not travel with uniform velocity because if it travel with uniform velocity then there should be line, not curve.

hope it is helpful..............................
