ACTIVITY 1 :

Day 1 :

nothing happened

Day 2 :

Iron nail moisturised water starts to rust

Nothing happened to oiled nail.

Day 3 :

Iron nail rusts a little bit more.

Nothing happened to oiled nail.

Day 4 :

Rusting in iron nail takes place again.

Nothing happened to oiled nail again.

This is happening because water with oxygen promotes rusting and oil makes a cover over the nail preventing it to rust.

ACTIVITY 2 :

Day 1 :

Water level comes low at night.

Day 2 :

Water disappears and salt lefts.

This happens because water evaporates and salt and minerals in it does not.
