firstly compare the moles of the MgO produced with the moles of oxygen , you will get the mass of the required to react with the 6g of Mg

moles of O2 = moles of MgO

m / 32  = 10 ÷ (2 × 40 )        

 { 2 is the stochiometric coeff. of MgO in the                                                                     rnx i.e 2Mg + O2 = 2MgO }

mass of oxygen you get is 4g

now for the rxn of 6g Mg you require 4g of O2

and for the 50 g , the O2 require is 100/3g
