Some man-made are bomb explosions, major fires, aviation accidents, building collapses, shipping and railway accidents, desertification and the release of toxic substances into the environment.
However, the distinction between natural and man-made catastrophes is not always clear cut. For instance, deforestation by man results in landslides, flash floods, drought, etc.
