Douglas is placing strings of lights around the edge of a circular patio with a diameter of 7.5 meters. The lights are in lengths of 1.45 meters. What is the best approximation for how many strings of lights Douglas needs? Use 3.14 to approximate for π .

Here, Circumference = Diameter * π

C = 3.14 * 7.5

C = 23.55

Now, Number of strings = 23.55 / 1.45 = 16.24

In short, He needs approx. 17 strings
