Question :

  • A train starting from railway attains a speed of 20m/s in 1 minute . it's Acceleration is

  \qquad \pink{ \rule{80mm}{0.8mm}}

Answer

  • Acceleration of train = 1/3 or 0.33}

Explanation:

Given Information

  • Speed of train = 20m/s
  • Time taken by train = 1 minute

Need to Find out

  • Acceleration of train ?

Formula used

  • v = u + at

where,

  • v = Final Velocity
  • u = initial velocity
  • a = Acceleration
  • t = time

Solution

Since the train is starting from rest so it's initial velocity will be

 \large \longrightarrow \: u\:  = 0

Final velocity of the train is given in the question i.e

 \large \longrightarrow \: v\:  = 20

Time given in the question is 1 minutes

 \large \longrightarrow \: t = 1  \: minute = 60 \:  s econds

So ,applying the first equation of motion I.e

 \boxed{ \text{v = u + at}}

we will find automatically the value of Acceleration

Putting value in the above equation we will get

  \\  \longmapsto \text{v = u + at} \\  \\  \\

\longmapsto  \text{20 = 0 + a} \times 60 \\  \\  \\

 \longmapsto \sf \: 20 = a \times 60 \\  \\  \\

 \longmapsto \sf \: a =  \dfrac{2 \cancel0}{6 \cancel0}  \\  \\  \\

 \longmapsto \sf \: a =  \cancel \dfrac{2}{6}  \\  \\  \\

 \large \pink  {\longmapsto   \fbox{\boxed{\text{Acceleration = } \frac{1}{3}  \:  \: or \: 0.33} \:  \: \: \: }} \\

Therefore it's Acceleration is 1/3 or 0.33

 \qquad \rule{80mm}{0.6mm}

  • Force = Mass × Acceleration
  • Energy or work = Force × Distance
  • Power = Energy/ Time
  • Velocity = Distance/ Time
