Step-by-step explanation:

Solution :

Given diagram contains rectangle , Parallelogram and a Trapezium.

Area of the given diagram is equal to the sum of the areas

Area of the diagram = Area of the rectangle + Area of the Parallelogram + Area of the Trapezium

Area of the Rectangle :-

RSTU is the rectangle

Length of the rectangle = RU = ST = 18 units

Breadth of the rectangle = RS = TU = 6 units

We know that

Area of a rectangle = lb square units

Area of the Rectangle UTSR= 18×6 sq.units

=> Ar(RSTU) = 108 sq.units -----------------(1)

Area of the Parallelogram:-

QR UV is the paralellogram in which ST = RU =QV = 18 units

Height = 9 units

we know that

Area og a Parallelogram = bh sq.units

=> Ar(QRUV) = 18×9

=> AR(QRUV) = 162 sq.units ---------(2)

Area of the Trapezium :-

PQVW is a Trapezium

QV = 18 units

WP= 36 units

Distance between WP and QV = 9 units

We know that

Area of a Trapezium = (1/2)h(a+b) sq.units

We have , a = 36 units , b = 18 units , h = 9 units

=> Ar(PQVW) = (1/2)×9×(36+18)

=> (1/2)×9×54

=> 9×54/2

=> 9×27

=> 243

Ar(PQVW) = 243 sq.units -------------------(3)

Now Area of the given diagram

=> Ar(UTSR) + Ar( QRUV) + Ar( PQVW)

=> 108 + 162 + 243

=> 513 sq.units

Answer:-

Area of the given diagram is 513 sq.unuts

Used formulae:-

  • Area of a rectangle = lb sq.units
  • l = length
  • b = breadth
  • Area of a Parallelogram = bh sq.units
  • b = base
  • h = height
  • Area of a Trapezium = (1/2)h(a+b) sq.units
  • a and b = parallel sides of the Trapezium
  • h = distance between the two parallel sides
