a)  F_{b(water)} = 5 N – 3 N = 2 N

b) We know, density of saline water is more than normal water. Also, more the density of the fluid, the more is the magnitude of Bouyant force.

( F_b = - \rho gV) {in usual terms}

So, the new weight of the object can be 2 N (less than 3 N).

c)  F_{b(saline)} = 5 N – 2 N = 3 N.

More:-

  • Bouyant force is the upthrust provided by a fluid to an object.
  • If an object has a smaller density than the fluid, then it will float.
  • If an object has a greater density than the fluid, then it will sink.
  • Archimedes explained bouyancy. He declared,

“Whenever an object is partially or fully displaced in a fluid, then it receives a force which is equal to the weight of the fluid displaced by it.”
