This question is to be done by Pythagorean Theorem,(H²=P²+B²).

GIVEN, Height of wall is the height covered by Ladder tip= AC= 12m (PERPENDICULAR)

Distance between foot and wall= BC = 5m(Base)

To find -height of ladder

Thus, using Pythagorean Theorem,

H²=P²+B²

=> (AB)² = (AC)² + (BC)2

= (12m)² + (5m)²

= 144m²+25m²

= 169m²

 =  >  \: AB =  \sqrt{169 {m}^{2} }

Thus, AB= 13m

Therefore, height/lenght of ladder is 13m.

hope this helps........
