Please Help I Will Mark As Brainlist

Today was like any other day. I woke up, had my breakfast and got ready for my college. But who knew that I would end up solving a case at the end of the day.
The birds were chirping and as I got on the bus, I had an uneasy feeling. I told myself that it was probably because I had my history test (to be honest, my preparation was not up-to-the-mark) and I knew i had to make perfect scores if i wanted to enrol myself in a good college. Keeping that thought aside, i was about to sit down when i saw a dirty, half torn ID under the seat. That caught my curiosity and though the face in the ID was unclear I knew that i had seen him somewhere.
I looked around and inquired if anyone had dropped their ID or if they knew him but the response was in the negative. Since the police station was nearby and i had an hour left for my class, I thought it wise to hand it over to them. You wouldn't believe what happened next.
The air was filled with tension and I wondered why. When I handed them the ID, they looked at me with wide eyes.
My question was answered. A week back, a murder had been committed but it was informed that the culprit had fled the scene and was on the run. When i put the pieces together, I realised that it was him. I never would have imagined him coming to a small town like ours and I concluded that the police had been tipped with the information.
Soon after, they started off and with the information they could gather from the driver and few others, they called me up to tell that the culprit had been caught. A huge sign of relief escaped me and as i recall the incident, I am glad i moved early.
Also, to show their appreciation, I was handed a huge sum of money and a bravery medal. I couldn't be happier.
