1) Latitudes are the ones which give us some info about temperature of a place.As the latitude increases from equator to poles the temperature decreases.All the latitudes from equator to tropics give us info about heat zones.Mainly in Africa because the equator passes through it.So latitudes carve out HEAT ZONES of EARTH

3) The Equator and all diametrically opposite longitudes are called Great circles.Because they pass through or touch the centre of the circle. They have a radius equal to the radius of the sphere's centre.
