Correct Question :-

A marble tile measures 25cm by 20cm. How many tiles will be required to cover a wall of size 4m by 3m

Answer :-

we know that,

  \boxed{\bold {area \: of \: rectangle = l \times b  }}

and

  • length of marble tile = 25cm = 0.25m
  • breadth of marble tile = 20cm = 0.2m

 \bold{: \implies  0.25 \times 0.2 } \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   \\ \\ \bold{: \implies0.05 \:  {m}^{2}   } \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:

so, area of a marble tile is 0.05

and

  • length of the wall = 4 m
  • breadth of the wall = 3 m

 \bold{:  \implies 4 \times 3} \\  \\  \bold{:  \implies 12   {m}^{2} }

so, area of the wall is 12m²

now, we have to find no. of tiles required to cover a wall

let n tiles are required

 \bold{ :  \implies \: n =  \frac{area \: of \: wall}{area \: of \: one \: tile} } \\  \\  \bold{: \implies  \cancel \frac{12}{0.05}  }  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \\  \\  \bold{: \implies  \cancel \frac{1200}{5}  } \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \\  \\  \bold{: \implies  \orange{ 240 }} \: \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:

hence, 240 tiles are required to cover the wall
