AC=AD+CD=6cm+4cm=10cm. AB=8cm . BC=root over of AC square - ab square =root over of 100-64 =root over of 36=6cm. In triangles ABC and EDC, angle ABC=angle EDC=90. angle C is common Therefore, ABC is similar to EDC by AA similarity. So, ar ABC / ar EDC = BC square/DC square =6square/4square=36/16=9/4. ANSWER
