Please, help me answer this.. If you have a problem about my question please just comment it. All my questions have a nonsense answers so please if you know this answer it correctly please?

Directions: Which of the following is a function? Justify your answer. Number 1 is
done for you.

1. y = 2x + 1
2. y = x -6
3. y = -6x – 1
4. x + y2 = 16
5. y =

Solution: #1
Is the relation y = 2x + 1 a function?

Answer: Yes, because when x is replaced by any number, then y will have a distinct value. Suppose x = 3, then y= 7. If x = -1 then y = -1. If x = 12 then x = 2. No value of x will make the value of y more than one.

Thank you in advance!
