After selling his land he had  1/2  of the land left (in the beginning he had  1  and he gave  1/2  so  1−1/2 = 1/2 ).

Now of this half he gave half to his son. So how much did his son got from the original land?  1/4  ( 1/2 × 1/2 = 1/4 ) that leaves himself with  14  and from this he gave  13  to his daughter so she got  112  ( 14⋅13 ) of the original land and now he has  1/4−1/12 = 3/12−1/12 = 2/12 = 1/6  

∴ He has 1/6 of his land left.
