Step-by-step explanation:

Solution :

(a) 5 - 3(5x + 2) = 4 (7 - 3x) + 1

=> 5 - 15x - 6 = 28 - 12x + 1

=> -1 - 15x = 29 - 12x

=> -15x + 12x = 29 + 1

=> -3x = 30

=> x = 30/-3

=> x = -10

(b) \frac{6x + 1}{3}  + 1 =  \frac{x - 3}{6}

 =  >  \frac{6x + 1 + 3}{3}  =  \frac{x - 3}{6}

 =  > 6(6x + 1 + 3) = 3(x - 3)

 =  > 36x + 6 + 18 = 3x - 9

 =  > 36x + 24 = 3x - 9

 =  > 36x - 3x =  - 9 - 24

 =  > 33x =  - 33

 =  > x =  \frac{ - 33}{33}

 =  > x =  - 1
