which means their sum will be 180,

so,

78 + 47 + y = 180

so,

y = 180 - 125

y = 55

Now,

x = 47° + 78° (exterior angle of a triangle is equal to the sum of opposite interior angles)

so,

x = 125°

Now,

x - y = 125° - 55° = 70°.
