Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

a^4+b^4 -11a^2b^2

To find :-

Factorise the expression ?

Solution :-

Given expression is

a^4+b^4 -11a^2b^2

It can be written as

a^4+b^4 -2a^2b^2-9a^2b^2

=>[(a^2)^2+(b^2)^2 -2a^2b^2]-9a^2b^2

=> [(a^2-b^2)]^2 -9a^2b^2

Since (a-b)^2 = a^2-2ab+b^2)

Where a = a^2 and b= b^2

=> [(a^2-b^2)]^2 -3^2a^2b^2

=> [(a^2-b^2)]^2 -(3ab)^2

Since (a+b)(a-b)=a^2-b^2

Where a= (a^2-b^2)

b = 3ab

=>>(a^2-b^2+3ab)(a^2-b^2-3ab)

Answer:-

The factorization of a^4+b^4 -11a^2b^2 is

(a^2-b^2+3ab)(a^2-b^2-3ab)

Used formulae:-

  • (a-b)^2 = a^2-2ab+b^2

  • (a+b)(a-b)=a^2-b^2
