The given equation is :

(6 + 3p)p =  - 6

 \implies 3 {p}^{2}  + 6p + 6 = 0

Is equivalent to the general equation given

a {x}^{2}  + bx + c ≡3 {p}^{2}   + 6p + 6 = 0

 \implies a = 3 \\  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: b = 6 \\  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  c = 6
