Please help me.

Five seconds before Jerry takes off Bills Balloon basket was 1032 feet above the ground falling at a constant rate. Five seconds after Jerry takes off Bills basket was 985 feet above the ground and Jerry’s Balloon basket was 57 feet off the ground and rising at the same constant rate the whole time. To the nearest tenth of a second , how long after Jerry’s balloon took off will the height of the two balloon baskets be the same height?

Answer:

62.6 sec

Step-by-step explanation:

Balloons are full of Hot air

so acceleration due to gravity is not considered for falling but constant Speed is  considered

Distance fallen in 10 sec by Bill's Balloon  = 1032 - 985 = 47 ft

Distance fallen per sec by Bill's Balloon  = 47/10 = 4.7 ft /sec

Distance between balloons after 5 secs of take off

= 985 - 57 =  928 ft

Distance covered by Jerry Balloon in 5 sec = 57 ft

Distance fallen per sec by Jerry's Balloon  = 57/5 = 11.4 ft /sec

Speed of Both together = 4.7 + 11.4 = 16.1 ft/sec

further Distance  tb covered after 5 secs = 928 ft

time taken = 928/16.1  = 57.6 sec

Total time taken after take off = 57.6 + 5 = 62.6 sec
