Step-by-step explanation:

R = { (x,y) : x divides y }

As, x divides x

= (x,x) belongs to R

So, R is a reflexive relation

Given (x,y) belongs to R

= x divides y

= y doesn't divide x

(x,y) doesn't belong to R

So, R ia not a symmetric relation

let (x,y) belong to R and

(y,z) belong to R

= x divides y and y divides z

= x divides z

So, R is a transitive relation

 \thereforeR is a transitive and reflexive relation
