Two organ pipes each closed at one end gives 5 beat per second.

Ratio of lengths = 50 : 51

We have to find fundamental frequencies of each organ pipe.

Let fundamental frequency of pipe 1 be f₁ and that of pipe B be f₂.

⭆ f₁ - f₂ = no. of beats per second

f₁ - f₂ = 5 ..... (I)

➤ Law of length, f₁ × L₁ = f₂ × L₂

ATQ, L₁/L₂ = 50/51

⭆ f₂/f₁ = L₁/L₂ = 50/51

f₂ = (50/51) f₁ ..... (II)

Substituting (II) in (I), we get

➠ f₁ - f₂ = 5

➠ f₁ - (50/51)f₁ = 5

➠ f₁/51 = 5

f₁ = 255 Hz

From equation (I)

➠ f₁ - f₂ = 5

➠ f₂ = 255 - 5

f₂ = 250 Hz

(B) is the correct answer.
