Question :

Voltage sensitivity of MCG is 2 div/mv. If the resistance of galvanometer is 25Ω then its current sensitivity is

Answer :

★ In a moving coil galvanometer,

I. Current sensitivity,

  • Is = NBA/k

II. Voltage sensitivity,

  • Vs = NBA/kR

From I and II, we get

⭆ Is/Vs = NBA/k × kR/NBA

⭆ Is/Vs = R

⭆ Is/2 = 25

⭆ Is = 25 × 2

⭆ Is = 50 div/mA

⭆ Is = 50 × 10³/10³ div/mA

Is = 1/20 div/μA

(A) is the correct answer.

Cheers!
