let the upper frame be A
let the right frame be B
the area of upper frame and lower frame would be same
the area of right and left frame would be same
A's height =(28-20)/2 (as the total is 28 and 20 is already covered... moreover there are 2 frame sections in the remaining length)
= 4cm
A's area =
1 \div 2 \times sum  of parallel \: sides \:  \times height
=
 \frac{1}{2}  \times (16 + 24) \times 4
=
80 \:  {cm}^{2}
height of B = (24-16)/2
= 4cm
area of B =
 \frac{1}{2}  \times (sum \: of \: parallel \: sides) \times height
=
 \frac{1}{2}  \times (20 + 28) \times 4
=
96 {cm}^{2}
