Evaporation is the process in which a substance in liquid state changes to a gaseous state due to an increase in temperature and/or pressure. Evaporation is a fundamental part of the water cycle and is constantly occurring throughout nature.

The ocean water is really salty. If we take some water in a container and keep it in the sun for sometime, The water would start evaporating, and soon all the water in the container would be evaporated leaving the salt behind in it.

This is how evaporation is used for obtaining common salt
