Let father’s present age be p years.

Daughter’s age is x years.

Now,p=4x

also,p+4=3(x+4)

so, 4x+4=3x+12

4x-3x=12–4

x=8

So,daughter’s present age is 8 years.

Now,father’s present age = 4 x 8 years=32 years. {since p =4x and x=8}.

So,the father’s age is 32 years.
