(x + 40)° + x° = 180°

x + 40 + x = 180°

x + x 40 = 180°

2x + 40 = 180°

2x = 180° - 40°

2x = 140°

x = 140° ÷ 2

x = 70°

Hence, the value of x is 70°

x + 40°

= 70° + 40°

= 110°

x = 70°
