please help me in doing this x+(x+2)=(x+4)+31

brackets don't matter here as the operation is not (*) i.e multiplication or (/)  i.e division

hence you directly add them

x+x+2=x+4+31

so 2x+2=x+35

so 2x-x=35-2

and so x=33

if it would have been x*(x+2)=(x+4)*31,then it would go like this

x*x + x*2  =  x*31 + 4*31
