=(45(240-x)+60x)/240x-x2
=(10800-45x+60x)/240x-x2
=(10800+15x)/240x-x2=17/4
=43200+60x=4080x-4x2
=4x2+60x+39120
x2+30x+19560=0
Then solve it.
Hope it helps^_^

Answer:

The distance covered by him at the rate of 60 km/hr is 195 km.

Step-by-step explanation:

Solution:-

Let us assume that the distance covered by Ajay with 60 km/hr is x km.

So, he covered (240 - x) km with speed 45 km/hr.

If the total time that Ajay takes to cover the whole 240 km is 4(1/4) = 4.25 hours, then we can write the equation as

( x/60) + (240 - x)/45 = 4.25

→ 45x + 240 × 60 - 60x = 60 × 45× 4.25

→ 14400 - 15x = 11475

→ 15x = 2925

→ x = 195 km.

So, the distance covered by him at the rate of 60 km/hr is 195 km.
