Answer:

First of all , we need to understand what's Friction?

Friction is a dissipative , non- conservation type of force mainly responsible for loss of energy and usually prevent motions.

In this table , we can say that:

1. Friction in Fixing Nails is Desirable because it helps in keeping the nails in position.

2. Friction and Loss of Energy is Undesirable because more amount of energy is utilised for same work.

3. Friction is necessary (Desirable ) in Running because it helps to keep grip on the road.

4. Friction causes Wear and Tear which is undesirable. This is because this causes damage to different parts.

SOLUTION -

As we know, friction is a necessary evil.

It is desirable in some cases and undesirable in others.

1. Fixing Nails -

Here, Friction prevents the hammer from slipping..

So, here the friction is desirable .

2. Loss Of Energy -

This is not desirable.

3. Running -

Here Friction helps us to run .

Without friction , we can not walk, lest run.

So, this is desirable .

4. Wear And Tear -

Friction is absolutely undesirable.
