Now using Phytagores theorem

PR^2 = PQ^2 + QR^2

PR^2 = 2(PQ) ^2........ (as PQ = QR)

so,

in triangle PQR

Apply Pythagoras theorem we get

PR² = PQ² + QR²

PR² = PQ² + PQ² ------(Since given triangle is isosceles)

PR² = 2PQ²
